Privacy & Cookie Policy

Privacy Policy

This policy statement sets out the privacy policy of Analyst Alpha Generation Limited ("The Analyst", "We", "Us", "Our") in respect of users of this website and of The Analyst's services (referred to in this policy as "You", "Your").

We take the privacy of Our website users seriously. We ask that You read this Privacy Policy ("Policy") carefully as it contains important information about how We will use Your personal data.

Personal Data We May Collect about You

We may obtain personal data about You (such as Your name, mailing address, email address, contact preferences, phone number, device identifiers, IP address, location information, and profile information where the contact is via social media) whenever You register/subscribe to Our website, use Our website, contact Us for any reason, and sign up to Our Services. We may also collect Your views on particular stock recommendations We make on Our website, which we refer to as The Analyst’s “Sentiment Tracker” (see below). This is a non-exhaustive list and is subject to change from time to time at Our sole discretion.

We may monitor Your use of this website through the use of cookies and similar technologies. For example, We may monitor how many times You visit Our website, which pages You go to, traffic data, location data (estimated using your IP address), and the originating domain name of Your internet service provider. This information helps Us to build a profile of Our users. Some of this data will be aggregated or statistical, which means that We will not be able to identify You individually from it. Please see further the section on "Information Tracking" below.

Lawful Bases for Our Processing

The Analyst is committed to respecting the personal data You supply to Us and all personal data supplied will be treated in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”). The Analyst will usually process Your personal data relying on the lawful basis provided by Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: for the purposes of providing services to You and sending to You information about Our products and services, subject to our various terms of use, terms of business and disclaimers. In certain other cases, The Analyst will process Your personal data relying on the lawful basis provided by Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: where we are pursuing our legitimate interests and provided that this is not unfair to You (see below). More rarely, The Analyst may process Your personal data relying on the lawful basis provided by Article 6(1)(c) GDPR: for the purposes of complying with Our legal and regulatory obligations.

The Analyst will collect only personal data which is relevant to these purposes and We will do Our utmost to ensure that such personal data will be accurate, complete, and kept up to date. Whenever personal data is obtained from You, You will have access to that personal data and we will endeavour to provide You with details as to how it will be used (for example, at the time we collect the data in question).

International Data Transfers

We do not transfer or process data outside the UK or the European Economic Area (“EEA”) unless We have Your specific consent, where we have ensured that this is lawful under the GDPR because there are appropriate safeguards in place to protect Your data (e.g. where ‘standard contractual clauses’ are in place between Us and the data importer based outside the UK / EEA) or where the nature of the processing requires it (for example, because You have chosen to use an email or other communications service which routes data outside the UK / EEA). Please contact Us if You have any questions about how We may transfer Your data overseas.

Promotional Communications

Any personal data supplied to Us will be held on The Analyst's secure database and may be used to keep You informed about services that The Analyst offers.

If at any time You do not wish to receive such communications, You may let Us know by contacting the email address below.

Data Security and Data Sharing

We take the security of Your personal information very seriously and We will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard Your personal information. However, You should be aware that the use of the Internet is not entirely secure and for this reason We cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any personal information which is transferred from You or to You via the internet.

The Analyst does not sell, trade, or rent Your personal data to any other company or organisation without Your permission. However, where you prefer to view our research using a third party’s platform (e.g. Bloomberg, Sentieo, Refinitiv, S&P Capital IQ, FactSet, RSRCHX/Liquidnet, or Red Deer), we may share certain of Your details with those third party providers in order to facilitate Your access to our research using their platform. In addition, The Analyst may share Your personal data with a third party seeking to acquire the whole or any part of our business (in the context of a merger or acquisition). In all other cases, or where we are compelled to do so by law or regulation (e.g. where ordered by a court of law).

Information Tracking (for The Analyst Sentiment Tracker)

We may obtain Your views on particular stock recommendations We make on Our website – we call this our ‘Sentiment Tracker’ feature. This will typically be in the form of Your answer (yes or no) to the question: “Do you agree with our stock recommendation?” We may use your answers to build a profile of the types of clients who agree or disagree with a particular stock recommendation, and thereby to improve Our Service to You and all Our users. If we publish the results of any Sentiment Tracker survey, we will only publish anonymised and aggregated data.

Cookies and Call Recording

The Analyst may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to Our website. This can include the use of “cookies”, a text-only string of information that is stored in Your browser or on Your browsing device. The information We obtain from Our use of cookies will not usually contain Your personal data. Although We may obtain information about Your computer or other electronic device (e.g. tablet, smartphone, etc.), such as Your browser type and version, and/or other internet log information – please note this will not usually identify You personally.

We may use the logs from Our servers to assist Us in Our security and help Us plan Our strategy.

If You change Your mind in the future about letting Us use cookies, You can modify the settings of Your browser to reject cookies. Please see our Cookie Policy, below, for more information about the particular cookies that We use on Our website.

In addition, please note that all telephone calls to and from The Analyst are recorded, and such recordings may be used for regulatory, compliance, training, and quality purposes.

Retention Periods

Data about You will be held for no longer than is necessary for the purposes set out above.

Your Rights

The GDPR provides You with rights in respect of Our processing of Your personal data. You may:

  • Request a copy of Your personal data and information about Our processing of it;
  • Request that We correct any personal data that We hold on You if it is incorrect or out-of-date;
  • Request that We delete information on You in certain circumstances;
  • Request that We stop processing Your data or restrict Our processing activities in certain circumstances;
  • Object, on grounds relating to Your particular situation, to any of Our particular processing activities where You feel this has a disproportionate impact on You;
  • Request to receive from Us the personal data we hold about You which You have provided to Us, in a reasonable format specified by You, including for the purpose of Your transmitting that personal data to another data controller; and
  • Where Our processing is based on Your consent, You may withdraw that consent, without affecting the lawfulness of Our processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

If You want to exercise any of these rights, please contact Us. Please note that none of these rights are absolute, and we may be entitled or required to refuse or apply exemptions whenever we respond to a request to exercise any such GDPR rights.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint about Our processing with a supervisory authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (https://ico.org.uk/).
