The Analyst Founder on AIM in The Sunday Times
'As scrutiny increases and investors wise up, the AIM rollercoaster is running out of steam' warns The Analyst founder Mark Hiley in this insightful piece from The Sunday Times on the potential risks in AIM stocks.
From drinks retailer Conviviality to mobile phone software firm Globo, London's Alternative Investment Market (AIM) has seen quite a few businesses collapse. The increase in companies forced off the market through administration and other financial issues (16 in 2018 compared to just nine in 2017), seems to back up Hiley's criticism that it is too easy to list on this junior market, which results almost inevitably in these blow-ups.
Hiley argues, 'AIM has overheated, fuelling eye-watering valuations for many of the larger constituents.'
